Snowspeeder in progress

I think you are being too critical. That Alliance white/grey is tough to match. You did great on the weathering and aging. So what if it's not Luke's ship? You are right…perfect is the enemy of good. You have inspired me to get on with completing the corvette I am building for my Dad. I want it to be perfect but 3 years later it isn't done…. Happy modeling. I'll post my speeder I never posted on here.

Actually, Luke's snowspeeder had gray stripes while Wedge's had red. Regardless, these are converted airspeeders used for planetary patrols and such. It's why they had to work hard to get them adapted to the cold of Hoth. In the EU, these airspeeders were used elsewhere. I had started building the old AMT/MPC Snowspeeder kit 15 years ago and my intention was to make it a non-Hoth one with unique blue and orange colors. The nice benefit of SF modeling is that we needn't be limited to what is actual.

Looks great.

While I totally get that one would build it like it appears in the movie... I would too. I've always wanted to do it in a jungle camo and a dessert version.

Your build looks very much like right out of the movie. Great finish.

camo!... I love that idea a LOT.

Here is my Bandai Snowspeeder.. the grey was too dark but the flash washed it out so looked better in pics than in person…815830CF-6E23-4D92-9718-A477CE192D89.jpeg

Yeah, I've found that if you are using a flash while taking a pic of a model, you have to distance yourself and zoom in. Otherwise the contrast is to much.
