you know how some guys model after a video game they play? well im sort of doing things backwards, and i have been having a blast, not to recently i made a flyable version of the Ace Of Spades P-51D Mustang, and its pritty much the only thing i fly now, thought i would show you guys my work!

Atom Fusion and the Ace Of Spades

but now its far more detailed, the last time you saw this it was not even near as detailed, it did not even have any of the ID numbers or anything, now.... it has ID numbers and letters, almost all the details of the 1/48th scale Model! and almost what the real deal is supposed to look like! look closely, you can see those little tiny crosses on the rearward end of the fusolage, like little black dots around the star, there are 361 of those! representing each areal victory Atom scored! look at the pilot, i found a way to get Atom Fusion on here too, so now i have him as well as the Mustang! basically the full package!

the Dark Night

for this one there are still a few things that could be tweaked here and there, the cross on the rearward part of the fusolage is sort of large, so the bottom end sort of wraps around the bottom of the fuselage, that can be fixed, get a smaller cross on there, no problem at all!

so guys what do you think? something a little different huh?

Great work on this Ace!!! The new details a looking pretty Kool!!!!! 8)

Really cool color schemes Ace! I appreciate your ability to texture models. Since I model mainly in paper, I also design 3D models to be built up. One thing that I could never do was skin a model with textures, way too difficult for me!

If you don't mind me asking, what game is that?

thank you guys

@Quaralane
thank you bud, im glad you like them, still need some improvement, but i am quite proud of them myself

@Fruit
i cant wait to see some of your paper models, i could very well see designing skins for airplanes and the skins for paper models being very similar, they both start off on a flat 2D surface or format, then are taken into a shape, it can be very difficult to get it right, and the added advantage with Designing skins for flight simulator aircraft over paper models, is that you don't need to put the airplane together, you just apply the skin, see what the plane looks like in the simulator, if it does not look right, make adjustments to the skin (like im going to have to doo to the dark night.) and re apply and see again.

this game is, Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 3 Battle For Europe, some just call it CFS3, its a older games, they have better ones like IL2 1946, but i like playing this a lot.

Very cool, Ace! Now you have to program the game ;)

yea, program it so i have each one of the Four ace squadron members flying with me. lol.

I can't wait to see a completed model from myself xD (Feeling is kind of mutual around here :p)

I wouldn't know anything about it truth be told. All I know how to do is make a 3D CAD model and create templates off it ::)

I received permission from Modelart, and they said that the P-51's can be recolored legally. (Of course one must possess a legal copy). After I'm done with the F-15, or during my build of it, I plan to recolor one of the Modelart P-51's, as the good Dr. Z made it so that the colored templates could be easily manipulated - at least in Inkscape. Problem is, I'm terrible at recoloring :D and terrible at coming up with color schemes :D

That's a great job you did there. I've tried a couple of times to make skins for 3D models with mixed success. It's quite alot of work to get it right.

yes, it can be difficult thats for sure, the textures and color schemes can be very hard to work with..

ooh yea, it takes several tries, the Ace Of Spades P-51D Mustang took me multiple tries just to get it where it is now, and i could probably find more things too do with it, like the labeling that warns the crew not to fill the Aft Fuselage fuel tank half way unless instructed. would have to sort of re do a few things... ad some pannle lines, weathering... stuff like that.
