I have been asked to "tidy up" a wooden model of a 15th century Spanish Galleon that a friend has asked me to rebuild as she helped her dad build it many years ago View attachment 133755View attachment 133756View attachment 133757View attachment 133758View attachment 133759View attachment 133760View attachment 133761 And this is what she would like..... So I decided to make a start on stripping this down.... wow, what a mess. This may take longer than the 3 months I first thought. Amazing to see you take just about any challenge, this time with 'the original builder' looking over your shoulder... kudos.difficult to try keep it as original as possible
Add some more barnacles and on the name plate tell her it's the pirate ship from the movie The FogWell, kinda messed that post up but hopefully you will get the idea.
Any advice greatly welcome. Pantherman

It's bits of plaster, paper, string, old shoe tacks, nails, really really thick yacht varnish and everything else in between. The hull is a solid chunk of timber that weights more than my compressor....... PanthermanParts of it look more like plaster than wood. I'm certainly interested in following this one!
