Finally finished this project. There were a lot of first with this project. First time using clear over the decals, first time using photoetch (which was probably not smart to start off with those small DZUS fasteners!) first 1/20 Ferrari etc. The paint did not come out as shiny as I wanted and the photos hide a lot of imperfections, but I am happy nonetheless.
I accidentally destroyed the mirrors when the fell on the floor and I rolled over them with my chair, so I used an extra set of mirrors from the Mclaren MP4/5B set. With all the trial and error on this kit, I stopped caring about accuracy and just wanted it finished . Just doing what I can to catch up to the talented people here.
Tamiya f189 early version
Original Tamiya Decals
Paint was Scalefinishes.com Ferrari Rosso F1
Clear was Alclad Gloss
Tamiya Photoetch Seat Belts - I sprayed decanted Tamiya Primer to get the texture on the seats, then covered it with Vallejo Ocher Yellow for the color.
Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland Quick turn Fasteners (4 pieces per fastener!)
Used the stencil from the Hobby Design MP4/8 Photoetch set for the tires
Hope you all enjoy!
