Tamiya Polish challenge

I am using Tamiya polishing compound to try to get a glossy finish on my plastic model piece. The issue I am having is that after two coats, there is a whitish film developing. Any tips or ideas. I'm sure I'm doing something incorrectly. Thank you.

What do you mean by 2 coats ?
polishing with coarse then fine compound ?

white is all the scratches , you probably need a finer compound .
