How do some of you get that great look on your vision blocks? Is there a difference in looks from WW2 to present?

WW 2 vision blocks clear (no tint). On the M48 I painted the glass white and then over that I painted Tamiya clear green. They have several clear colors, blue, green, red, yellow, orange, and smoke

The other thing you can do is put some Future over the top of the clear color. It will really give the impression of glass. Its used all the time in aircraft for dials and such.

Yes, To your question! The WwII era vision blocs were Clear And appeared Greenish. To the outside viewers!

Newer optics.... Some are coated with laser reflective coatings.... Ranging in colors. Mostly Redish in color!

If you do WWII. Mostly? I would stick with green!

My small video deals mainly with optics you can slip a film behind! Some will still need to be painted by hand!
And as the one shown above.... Is really well done!

Hope all of this answered somewhat your question?
