So it's been a while since I hit the bench, maybe 8 months. I've never worked on a car before (way outside my comfort zone) so I picked up the Revell 56' Ford F-100 Pickup Ed Roth edition kit # 85-4914. I'm going to rust the poop out of this just for fun and skills building. The kit has these tires that I can't figure out if their vinyl or rubber to the touch. If their vinyl/rubber can they be weathered like plastic tires like on air craft kits?
Any and all responses please.
Happy New Year,

They are a vinyl/rubber combo, easiest way to get pigments and such to stick to them is to give the tires a light coat of matt. Probably should use an acrylic, as there is no telling what and enamel or lacquer matt spray would do to the tire.

The matt coat will just give you some tooth for pigments and such to bite into.
