Will be starting this build tonight after dinner. I have been looking forward to this one for awhile now.

Just getting started on this. It looks like a nice kit. I ordered what I thought was 3D decals and I received PE instead.
I have never dealt with PE before and it looks a little intimidating.
I will forge ahead and see what I can do with it.
First pic is where I'm currently at in the build. Second pic is the PE.

PE is tricky but rewarding. I found it alot easier after i bought some PE tools, cutter, diamond file and bending vice. Pantherman

It's a good kit, though today's modeler probably has higher expectations. I'm old enough to have been a kid when Monogram issued the first version, which was as a B-24J. It was a sensation! The sheer size of the model was something most of us had never seen. They brought out the -D version a couple of years later. Along with their B-17G, the B-29, and the C-47, it was a golden age.
Today, there is the HK model, but this kit still holds up well. I look forward to seeing your progress on it!

Ah, it's the crate that they shipped the
B-17 in:p
Joking aside, it looks like it's going to be a great build!!!! Mine is a "vintage" Monogram kit.

This build is on hold. The wife decided it is time I work on the house. First on the agenda is new flooring in the office which happens to be my hobby room as well.
Everything is being removed from the room and carpet is coming out. I will be putting down wood flooring.
Then it will get new paint.
No timeline for getting back to building models.

I feel your pain, house guests arriving tomorrow, had to pack up my work space from the dining room table...... Haven't been able to anything in a week and a half.

Here is an update.
Since my wife has been clearing her things out of the office I have been building (Shhhh).
I am just gluing parts on and I will paint them later. The inside of the fuselage is not really visible but I still want it to look put together. As I said, I will paint everything later before the two halves go together.

Looks awesome!

This build is no longer on hold. I talked the wife into delaying the office redo.
I have been working on this off and on.
