My mix is 5 grams Vallejo Buff and 1 gram of Vallejo Lemon Yellow with 1 gram of thinner.

Yes. All the paint I mix is weighed in grams.
I start by counting drops til I get the color I want then translate the number of drops to grams.
This one was 5 drops Buff and 1 drop Lemon Yellow. So 5:1 ratio

After doing some research on the actual cockpit materials I've noticed the instructions are a bit off in some areas.
I had the instrument panel painted like it was suggested, black.I figure most things were wood where there could be wood since is light-weight and strong.
I'm redoing things in woodgrain format.
I felt like redoing this from black to woodgrain.
After oil paint dries I'll redo the gauges.

Alright. For a gloss on the propeller. I tried the floor wax and it looked pretty good.
Since I redid the prop for a better wood finish I let it completely dried and cure. And tried this nail polish stuff my wife gave to me which I thought I might be able to use as a gloss someday.
Someday is today, and I must say this stuff worked really well!
