Now the prop is completely dry and it still shiny!!Absolutely, but only ruby red.
Those close up photos will look so much better with your nicely polished nails. Think you should go with the pink nail polish to start with....hehehehe.PanthermanSo will you be doing your nails in prop varnish from now on......hehe. Pantherman

I just ordered the burnt umber. I want to try a different technique for the wood.Windsor & Newton. I like them. It's the brand I use for water color painting.

Great tip! This will be interesting getting the tail decal around the rigging. Should've put the tail decal on first.

There are a couple of places where the decal will cover an anchor point. Maybe install decal then poke a hole in it for the rigging.Great l
Great tip!
I am so far behind...
I use paint thinner for oils. I can control it better.I just ordered the burnt umber. I want to try a different technique for the wood.
What do you thin yours with?
I was thinking safflower oil.
Yes, I agree with Keith. You would be adding more oil. That stuff takes super long time to fully cure .
Maybe that's why you're considering it ?

The numbers are a separate decal so that is easy enough.I would have painted the stripes instead of using the decals. It's easy to replicate it. Just cut out the numbers around the white borders on number 7 and lower left on the number 2 on the blue side; a semi circle area for the zero on the red side.
There are quite a few nice ww1 tank's. Pantherman
A good place to find cheaper deals is Aliexpress, got some real bargains on their site. PanthermanQuestion?
Are we still planning on the WW-I tank? I think I found one on ebay that won't break the bank.
I just placed the order.
