USS Texas BB-35 1/350

I finally have all of the deck guns. Still more to complete.
This has been a fun build. It seems to really moving along quickly. I honestly have no idea where I'm going to display this gal, at 20" long and 4" at its widest point... possibly a floating shelf?

Nah, I figure Texans (and a few other states) are the ones who would not be offended.

Having said that, I feel a little offense at my own post...

Carry handle, gigantic optic that is either offset or partially blocked, VFG within inches of magwell, phone-cord, and dangling. I think it is just a very old picture that google gave me.

I do like his magnetic release, I think that is better than the smart-card types that work like your hotel-room doors.

I did see a couple things missing. Off set iron sights and most importantly AMMO!!!

Here is a pic I found of, what looks like the initial stages of restoration and what the Texas looks like before being refloated for the remaining restoration, which may take up to 2026.

I had a near catastrophic accident.
Something fell on the ship knocking a few pieces off and only broke an anti aircraft gun and the top of the conning tower was detatched, and a couple of life boats. The cranes and big guns are not glued down, yet and they tumbled onto the floor.
Thankfully I was able to restore these parts back on.
I shudder to think of how horrible it could have been had I not caught the ship.:eek::oops:

Oh. And to keep up to par. I did loose a tiny part... as I usually do. Lol
But, it is not a loss that would be noticeable.

I have never worked with so many PE parts as this ship has. My duck-billed tweezers are getting a workout. :D

Anyway, on with life.

In the background you might see my horse doing a head-stand. Ha! :-þ
