    1967 Lindberg Oldsmobile 442

There was a time some years ago I was working on an F-16 kit that was 99% done. I went to open a bottle of CA and didn't realize there was pressure in the bottle. I snipped off the tip and sprayed droplets of CA all over the the kit! All the painted and decaled surfaces, and the canopy! Totally...

Some setbacks on the 442, First, I tried spraying the body with Mr. Color Superclear. This stuff really worked great I thought, my only problem is that I chose to spray outdoors, The problem was that there were several wildfires burning in the distance. There was some fine ash in the air that...

Rear windows - up or down?

Now even more confusing is I looked at more photos online and it appears that this 1967 442 may have actually had metal frames with channels for the window to slide up into, But then not all examples showed this. Heck with it, I'm going for the build just as it is.

Rear windows - up or down?

I have been noticing that when viewing actual photos of cars on line, more often times than not, they seem to have the rear passenger windows rolled up. None of the model kits I have feature this option. Just front and rear glass and wing vents when appropriate, Then oddly enough, I look at the...

By the way, that's the Hemi from the purple 'Cuda in the background. It got repainted as there were things not right. I might see if I can get a better shot of the dash.

The interior tub. Seems I'm constantly touching things up, but it may finally be going to be mounted inside the body. I've Future dipped the windshield and rear glass, though I did end up doing the front over as a speck of dust found it's way onto the glass right in front of the driver. Windex...

I don't think I could own a car that is all red inside and out as I am getting burnt out on the red. The 442 is getting a little closer to coming together as it's seems I can never get the time to sit down at the desk, One evening at the desk actually ended up repairing the shop light over the...

The black base looks rough but you are seeing more of the tape than the actual trim.

Also some work on the chrome though many of the exterior trim is provided already chromed. I'm using Alclad with the black base. These are WIP photos where I am putting down the base and need to wait to apply the chrome. I peeled back some of the masking to show the results around the...

With working a second job, it's often hard to find time to work on projects, but have done a few things here and there on the '67 442. One error I made was to mount the nearly completed engine onto the frame, and on a trial fitting of body to chassis, I discovered that the fenders would not fit...

I found out why it's important to look at references: I am trying to figure out where to put the heater hoses. Every car or truck I've ever owned, 2 Fords and 4 Chevy's, had the upper heater hose exit at the front of the intake manifold. Apparently the 442 was routed out the back of the...

Another omission I noticed was the absence of a battery, but quickly learned the battery was relocated to the trunk in order to accommodate the scoop intake through the front grill on the W30 model. Working on the wires still, and adding those tiny looms to the wires was a pain! The only thing...
