thinning tamiya bottle paints for airbrushing

Tamiya acrylics have been my go to paints ever since Floquil Poly Scale was discontinued, mostly because of availability and a good quality. IPA, X-20A, and Mr Color Leveling Thinner all work well for me, depending on the finish I’m looking for. But the best all round thinner for Tamiya...

    Opinion

I bought the Hobby Boss kit and found the canopy to be pretty badly out of scale. It is very visible I have built the Hasegawa kit and enjoyed the build and the finished product. It is an older kit, but still give the Eduardo kit a run for its money. The cat grin is not perfect. But it sure...

    B-25 Mitchell -- Accurate Miniatures 1/48 (1999)

I haven’t attempted an AM B-25. I read quite a few builds of this model claiming stretched patients. You have rendered justice to a beautiful plane!

I tried building this rascal back when it was just released. Yup. Long ago. It outwitted me from the start. Fearsome job you are doing there!

    Hi from Cork Ireland

Welcome Murph from Galveston Texas Sorry to hear about your current rig. Sounds like it has just plain gone arseways But don’t give up. I’m fairly ancient an have gone through a number of air brushes. Tamiya has one on Amazon for $88 US. Performs better than most of the really expensive ones...

    Arma Hobby P-39Q 1:48

Don’t throw in the towel. I bought this kit then watched a YouTube video on the build. I decided right away not to build this kit. I built a Tamiya kit instead. They never disappoint. I did build the Hasegawa P-39 some time back. A very pleasant build… zero filler! But you do have to provide...

Best place in Canada to order photo etched & replacement parts.

I have ordered from and had good results from Ultracast. They are located in Ontario. They have more decals, resin, and gun barrels. But they do have PE too. Hope this helps

Low tack masking tape pulling off paint.

I used to massacre many a paint job from lifting paint. I haven’t tried my forehead, but pressing and lifting the tape on the bottom of my forearm numerous times to reduce the adhesion to almost nil will work for all model paints. All the best
