Name of Build: 1/48 sherman firefly Ic
Kit manufacturer: tamiya
Scale: 1/48
Description
i loved building this kit! it was very fun, everything went together easily. it was my first 1/48 scale kit as i uaually build 1/35. it depicts a shermn firefly Ic in germany early febraury 1945.
the stowage was made with blocks cut from blue foam and then had tissue paper glued on top.
i used lifecolour acrylics to paint it, AK interactive products (streaking grime for the pinwash, rust for the rust streaks and wet mud) and mig pigments for the weathering. i used medical gauze for the camo netting on the main gun.
I also put the model on a base that was made using PVA glue, sand, soil, pigments, synthetic grass, bicarbonate of soda (for the snow).
i made the tree from a stick of balsa wood. i coated it in squadron putty, then after about 5 mins when it was slightly dry, i dragged a saw blade down it gently, to replicate bark.
