If you get some alcohol (not the kind you're supposed to drink), you can almost certainly use it to take the paint off again, either by soaking the blades in it, or with a cloth.

That sounds like what I need thanks! I assume you mean rubbing alcohol...

That's an American term I've heard/read used, but I've never figured out what exactly you guys mean by it But I guess it's what I'm talking about: over-the-counter alcohol for use around the house.
