1969 Nova SS

OK, cool. Thanks. I might try to detail that, may not.

Ya'll are gonna be sooo annoyed with all my questions before this build is over.

No, that's when I do my first military build. ;D

It's fun, taking on a new genre.

I gotta say. Space for the plugs in between the headers is tight!

That's a plus Scott. If you don't drill the hole for the plug wire in the exact proper spot it's ok. There's a little wiggle room.

Good thing! ;D

I gotta quit for the night before I loose my mind. I have a new appreciation for all those that wire 1/25 engines. Nuts. Here's where I got today. I made some wire boots, as seen in pic.

Still lots to do build wise and then some subtle weathering on this. Funny how the digital pics are so...true. I see CA and a seam that my eye didn't see. It could be because they are crossed.

Until tomorrow.

Two things:

1. That engine is looking sick!! Very realistic. Gonna be even sweeter with light weathering.

2. That camera is kickin' butt!! I want one.

Thanks man. I appreciate the tutoring.

As for the camera. That's just a cheap point and shoot, with a sheet of paper for a background. Handheld snapshots and then I adjusted the levels in photoshop to make white, white.

Scott, may have been explained in previous posts but if I may ask, what did you make the plug boots out of and what did you use to make the clips that seperate the plug wires as seen in the first photo ? Also what material did you use to make your distributor ?

Boots are wire insulator...what you strip from the wire. Cut at 45 and CA.

Looms are simply aluminum tape, colored with black Sharpie.

Distributor is paper clip wire center, plug wires using printer cable wire, all wrapped in heat shrink. It's a tad tall...fussy to make. This was my 2nd attempt.

Scott, I found that watch parts make great pulleys for engines:

I swear I won't bug you anymore tonight. ;D

Yer not man, none.

That's really cool. Those looms you have there...Photo etch?

Machined aluminum. (bought) The air cleaner is machined as well from Parts by Parks. He has great products.

Cool. PE looms are a nice touch that I think I'll add to the stash before too long. Just gotta find a set full of the right ones. Any suggestions?

I think mine came from Detail Master. Check out scaledreams.com. They sell a ton of Detail Master goodies.

Are there how to's or tutorials anywhere on making these three you explained :D

Detailmaster and Model Car Garage have separate sets of wire looms, as well the Detail Master distributors come with looms in them, also the option of 4, 6, or 8 cyl caps for the distributor.

Both DM and MCG I can get.
