Really depends on how comfortable you are with cutting the bed out to replace it ? if you're not ,then just make sure the surface is flat and lay some very thin (veneer) wood on the bed in strips ,it will look just as good

Since today decided to dump several inches of snow on us, I didn't get much done today. I did manage to get the parts primered.

As well as some of the chrome parts painted. Have to say Im pretty happy with the chrome finish. Tried a new type of paint for the first time for the chrome color and have to say it came out pretty good.

Trying a new brand of paint for the base coat as well and have to say Im actually very happy with the spoon test from this afternoon. This spoon test is just one layer of primer and one layer of basecoat. No clear coat or anything. Very happy with this result so far. Hope it goes on the rest of the kit the same way.

The chrome is looking real good, and from what I can tell from the picture, your color on your spoon test will look real sharp on this kit!

Thanks Les. I used a brand new brand of paint for the Chrome, and Yellow so I'm not mentioning what brand of paint it is yet until I see what it all looks like put together just in case it needs to hit the purple pond before final assembly ha ha. So far I'm happy with the results to this point. I got a bit more painting done today. I have one coat yet for some of the parts and a coat or two yet for the frame rail and body or cab as some call it.

Silver and/or Chrome parts painted.

Black parts

Some Yellow Parts

Body (Cab)

Hood

Frame Rail (Ill try to get rid of some of the light for a better pic, the lights giving reflections that arnt really on the paint job. Sorry )

Well the first hick up of many to come Id assume has happened. First part to hit the Purple Pond is soaking as we speak. Guess that gives me time to work on my Nascar I have been working on as well.

Started assembling the engine. Still have some weathering and grime work to do in the next day or so (Maybe not sure yet).

As well as a little chassis and suspension work today.
