To me it makes sense that they should look "Slapped on"
because if you think about he ship, they would have to
come off for the fighter to be fitted with the hyperdrive ring.
It looks like there installed only when much more power
is needed. The way you clamped them to the front part of
the hull indicates it's a quick on and off turn around. ;D

Actually, they don't get removed.
Part of the idea in installing the new engines and weapons was to have a built in hyperdrive.
Kind of like with Anakin's original Clone Wars custom

nice build. the new engines flow with the design. really like the paint scheme. much better than the factory yellow scheme.
