Airfix 1:72 RNLI Shannon Class Lifeboat Starter Set - GROUP BUILD

A few of you guys have been buying trucks so I'm guessing the truck gb that was mentioned is going ahead at some point.
So what are the specifics? Any particular truck? I have a few in the stash and may well jump on board with this one, is there a start date in mind?

Love for you to join in the build, Mark.
The only specific is we are looking for the tractor truck kit. The brand of the kit and truck manufacturers is up to you.
We don't have a start date as of yet. I'll make a thread for it later tonight.
The title is Convoy hope we can get a convoy of builders. :D
We'll kick around a start date.

Hope it is not too soon. I am about to go on vacation for a week, and I would like to slide in to the rocking chair.

Im almost done but had a question.. My instructions dont reference installing part C24 (its shown not there in step 6 and in 8 its there. Nor does it reference the 56 color in the book. I know what part it is and where it goes thanks to your pics but am I missing something?

Yeah, the decals are a bit tricky with only a brush and water......no tweezers or micro sol and set. Fun though.....Pantherman
I think I may have caused myself some near future difficulty. I decided to go for a weathered (beat up) look because everyone else was doing clean and forgot that the decals probably arent going to sit well now lol. Oh well, still fun.

I am calling mine done as well. Was pretty fun besides some challenges. My paints were pretty dry and a few decals came apart really easy.

The wash is just the black paint w/ various amounts of water and the chipping is the exacto blade used in the build. I really only have one complaint.. If you are going to expect the user to paint a part instead of supplying a decal, you could at least call it out during the build with the other paint codes. I didnt realize until after it was together that there are parts they want you to paint. For example, the long rails are actually black and only the supports are gray. Inside the book it just shows gray with the exception of the ones @TimM63 pointed out. When you look at the box for decal placement, that is when they call it out. The cabin also has a long black stripe on each side. Since the railings are on and they dont call it out until after then it would be really hard to not make a mess.

In the end, still fun and glad I got in on this. Im still learning on when to stop on things, eventually I will get that subtlety is key. Thanks for getting this together. I might have to sit out the 18 wheeler because I want to start on my AK tow truck.
