AMT 1/48 Grumman F7F-3 Tigercat (COMPLETED)

It is a "what if", their idea is that it was used in Viet Nam instead of the Skyraider.

It's a fun kit and that's a cool idea for a what-if!
You might want to replace the kit tires, though. The vinyl-like plastic they're made of can react with the styrene of the hub parts and damage it. You can find articles online describing this effect. Here is one: https://imodeler.com/2014/03/amts-148-f7f-3n-tigercat/
It used to happen with car kits that had vinyl tires, too.

We will see what happens with the tires. My planes hang on the wall so there isn't a lot of pressure on the tires. maybe with the styrene painted it may not affect the tires.

The decals for this are not good. Hopefully they will clear up when I spray the clear coat.

Nice. I love the somewhat unusual and / or obscure aircraft kits.

Twin engine stuff especially. The OV-10 Bronco and P-61 Black Widow come to mind.

Be Well. Model On.

Thank you sir. The AMT kit was seriously lacking in any detail. Towards the end of the build I just wanted it off my bench.
I do like how it turned out just disappointed in the kit.

I took your idea a few months ago when I asked about home members store they're finished builds. I've been hanging my models now on my basement wall where my bench is. It's been working out well. Thanks for the idea. Was a good one
