All different sizes. Anything from near paper thin to couple millimeters.
I just went to the local hobby shop and raided their Plaststruct and Evergreen displays for anything that looked interesting. Grabbed various sizes of styrene sheet, strips, I-beam, channels and rods.
I can dig through my styrene supply stash when I get home for more detailed info if you need it
The stuff on the back of the bridge tower near the top, and the overhangs on the side is the near paper thin styrene. So thin you can cut it with regular scissors.
The rods on the guns are also the thinnest rods I could find (maybe as thin or thinner than 30 guage wire(maybe .005?)
Jimi said:anyway i plan build it and light it, i even went and bought the resin update kits for the engines, docking bay and side panels as well. i'm curious as to how you plan to light the kit up, i only have very limited lighting skills and its something i want to increase apon.

As for LEDs go, here's my bible:
http://led.linear1.org/led.wiz
Simply enter your voltage source (if you're using a power supply DO NOT TRUST the specs written on it, test it using a voltmeter or a multimeter), your LED voltage (if you're not sure, just clic on the question mark next to "diode forward voltage", basically, for your application, diode translates as LED), the ma of your LED (most 3mm and 5mm LED suck 20 ma) and the number of LED for your circuit) and TADAM, everything is calculated for you.
Hope this helps.
Check out Grendels lighting tutorials too, you'll lear tons, I know I did ;D
Cheers
