Sorry to hear about your dog Chuck, we are in the same situation here. Our twelve year old terrier cross is very ill, and has been to the emergency vet clinic this weekend. Hope your dog recovers quickly.
I love the mottling, Chuck! Did you do that free-hand?
I've got some similar projects with Italian WWII fighters, albeit in 1/72. I've got some ideas for masking some patterns, and free-handing others, so I'm curious to learn other tricks.
Thanks, JMac- I hope your pooch is doing better! Andi has survived surgery- a nasty abscess- and we may get to bring her home today.
Herr Baron- Thanks! I painted all that freehand. I added a drop of Gunze Sanyo Mr. Retarder to some out-of-the-bottle Tamya Olive green and simply doodled way. It was a good-karma kind of airbrushing day and everything went pretty smoothly. The next weekend was not so pretty- I fought with the thing the whole way, and even ran it through my new little ultrasonic cleaner. Still had to brush-scrub it afterwards, but I've finally dialed in just where my AB tends to get build-up.
Wow, Chuck, then my hat is off to you once again! Those blotches look like they were airbrushed to me. You had a nice, subtle touch in applying them. Well done!
Here's an update at last! Andi seems to have recovered and is back to full health, my job is hopping and my wife and I are well. That said, things do keep cropping up and modeling has to take second fiddle- and posting plays trombone. I had to cut this update short- look to the last pic for a teaser of where I am now. />/>
