When did these OVAs come out? They look pretty good. A nice update.
I thought the actors in the live action film did a really good job. Not the typical sort of Japanese Sci-fi movie.

they done a great job at updating the Yamato and the show.. I love to get one of the models but they running over $55 right now.. Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199 is really cool.. the was live action of Yamato done in 2010 the Cg was great and the ship look very cool..
BTW the Yamato eps are coming ut 4 or 5 at a time and are being shown first in Theaters then released to DVD/Blu-ray there are 14 eps out right now more coming in week or so ..

SOme friends of mine said that this one was more accurate than the big one (1/1000), the problems are there too even bigger. The new one, from Hasegawa, is a piece of art. The parts are molded in color and you can light it easily with clear parts for the cabin and engines.

Let's see if someone will do the Arcadia from the new CGI 3D movie (Autumn in Japan).

The movie is going to rock Ya the Hasegawa is just awesome.. I going over it to see what should be painted for effect or just leave it as is .. its big.. .. I have my 1/1000 here and the 1/1600 on the way adn just scored in auction a older 1/1000 Yamato to add to my collection.. I hope they do a model of the CG Arcadia but some are not liking it as it look more organic then the ship we seen ..I like the big green one more than the blue one from the TV show,but still love to get a model of that one as well .

Well I just got the 1/160 and here is what is on the table right now.. 2 more models coming a 1/100 Yamato classic and a 1/1600 The Queen Emeraldas model kit .. Looking forward to getting back to some good model making..

Here is a new set of pictures shot at Geekopolis Festival (Paris, France).






Believe it or not, it's not complete yet (the canons underneath are not glued yet, it lacks the black flag, some antennaes...). And you can see that the main deck is not glued either (more efficient to move with it without breaking anything).
