OMGOMGOMG I was TOTALLY THINKING OF DOING THE SAME THING!!!!

Its just images of Joe Johnston kept appearing when I was looking for reference pics,....I'm gonna make it an option,...thats the beauty about the Bandai kits, they make them for options,....gonna have to make a Bandai options box,....Stormtrooper hands & guns,...R2-D2 accessories,....AT-ST hatches open or closed ;D

Liking the "visor" idea here

Thanks Q,...I hope this version suits the visor

......OK

...some more mods

Although the Chicken has adjustable legs theres still a motion that the stop motion puppet had that the model doesn't do:

The legs & ankles tilting in or out

Theres a bit of chat over on RPF & Starship modeller with Blake1 showing how it all works on the foot:

& I found this image on how an upper limb rotates:

Then the expert MonsieurTox stepped in with images of his studio scale AT-ST:

.....So I got-a-cuttin:

I used spare poly parts from my Bandai Stormtrooper to make the joints
Still waiting for the filler to harden,...then tidy it up

...thanks for looking
John

Damn dude. That is insane. The pics make the joints look big, but from having the kit, I still can't believe you are able to replicate those bits in such a small scale.

Thanks Unreality,....its actually not that difficult, theres plenty of space inside those parts to put joints

This is the parts cleaned up & assembled again.....just done one leg at the minute

Still floors me. Congrats on taking the AT-ST buildoff to a whole new level. ;D

OK,...did a wee bit of painting last night,....mainly because of the extended comp time,....thanks again Scott

I painted the cockpit interior,...even though it'll likely never be seen ::)

Thats it,.....there was a piece that fell off on the outside of the head,...I had weathered it with oils & turps & although I had primed everything the wash must have ran down the back of the part & weakened it...

No biggie,...I just cemented it...BUT...theres something funny about the plastic on this kit definitely

J

Great stuff mate! I'm eager to see what my over use of the AK stuff will do to the plastic!

Thanks John & Q

Some photos of the pose & a bit of weathering to the head:

Very nicely done. I love the rusty areas. I gotta also say I love how we are all doing different versions of the walkers...from rust-buckets to the pair of Chrome statues Sven has. Great all around.
