1997... That's more like it... That would explain the art box and the poor molding.

Actually, Scott, the set Revell re-released for the 30th anniv. all had improvements made.
The Viper got a cockpit with clear canopy, as well as new engine inserts.
The Cylon Base Star got a sprue adding detail to the center join.
The Raider, I believe, got some new detail inserts for the engine (Don't know, never built this one when it was back out)

Point being, Revell missed the boat on not re-releasing Galactica, even without improvements, it would have outsold the rest (with maybe the exception of the Viper).
