BIG RIG RAT

Scott, some curlers come with metal perforated shrouds, check the hairdressing supply.

That's a good idea. I just realizes I have some PE mesh too that might work out.

Ok - so forget the tin can cover stuff. Another plan.

First - feedback on a smaller 'standard' pipe (with cover added, can't hold it all and take the pic)

Or something a bit more ballsy. (I'll have to reduce it at the bottom, bend under cab, connect to exhaust)

And the PE mesh I have to use as a cover

I'm leaning towards ballsy...

I much prefer this bend and cut though, than a simple 45...but I need to get somekind of spring to bend the tubing...

Got my bomber seats built this evening. I used the kit seat platform, but cut it down. Putting these directly on the floor is cool, but much too low to actually see outside the window. Last pic shows with cab, but they aren't glued down and moved a bit when I slid the cab on.

Thanks guys. I think they'll do the trick. I like em too.

But not loving this very much. Whatcha think? Too tall? Should I 45 the end, sharpen them...I think so.

They are tall..but still look pretty good!! I think the 45 like you mentioned might do the trick!

LOL...a couple Steampunk gears right on the 45 would do the trick!! ;D

::)

Thanks for the help guys.

I messed up my 45 on the brass so I switched to styrene. Easier to work anyways. I gotta say, the initial 45 is simple but then getting a 22.5ish, and two the same, is fun. ::)

This is an approximation...just taped there. Gonna do my best to get symmetry. I don't want this thing to look like it has Goofy's ears...

And here are the components. I'll use a nice piece of sprue to fabricate the exhaust, pinning it to the stacks. I used the kit 90 curve, then built up the diameter with tape and stuff. Fits well.

That's it for me. Time to watch Death Race 3.

Nice scratch work Scott.

I have a feeling some time in the next 24hrs Scott is going to have an urdge to build a Death Race car. ;D

Thanks dudes. LOL. Some neat ideas in the movie for sure...but I'm gonna stick with this beast.

Gotta love the time change...over slept.

Scott, I'm sorry I missed all your updates on the stacks. I gotta say, those stacks you have mocked up sure do look loud and mean! Nice scratch work on this all around!

No worries dude. Yeah, they should be loud.

Got a bit of time at the bench today, it was exhausting. :p

First I got my pipes sorted out
4439.jpg

4440.jpg

I've decided on having the pipes total rear facing. Kickin them out to the side, even a bit, made this thing look...goofy to me.

Fabricated some heat shields. Keep in mind that I'll 'tweak' the dents and placement. This is just a mockup. Pipes, shields are barely hanging on.
