Brush Clean Cup as 1st Wash

So, over the past few years I keep a plastic cup with water in it on my bench to clean brushes quickly. I use acrylics almost 100 percent.

And, over the past few years I also use the water from that brush cleaning cup, to do a 1st weathering wash on my models when they near completion.

Does anyone else do this? Or am I a fool.

Since pretty much forever, I have a glass jar (with a screw-on lid) filled with water on my workbench. I use it to wash out my brushes from acrylic paints, and also to dip them into for making washes on a palette. When the water runs low I add some more, but the last time I took the sediment out must be … oh, over a decade ago? At least. There's a cone of it that reaches over halfway up the jar :)
