C130 Hercules

Got a new one. A friend of mine asked me to put this one together.



His grandfather gave him the model back in 1995/6 and it has been in storage ever since.

I plan on it. I have got reference photos because my friend wants me to duplicate the C130 his grandfather flew in the 70s during Vietnam

It's almost ready for paint.



A little sanding on the cockpit left to do and for some reason I could not get the control yokes to stand up straight









Hmm. I must be getting better with the camera, only one very blurred and just a couple of them out of focus.
On the wings and body I laid down rivet lines, I couldn't get the pictures of them to focus properly though. It might be the lighting I'm using.

Went to prime it last night and realized I am completely out of mr thinner and had to order more, the closest place that carries it is in Dallas 1 hour away from me.

Thanks Panther. I'm enjoying the build more than I thought I would. It's taking a while but that is mainly due to work and the fact I keep running out of colors and have to wait for them to come in and I did run out of thinner, but I got more now.

It is ready for final assembly and weathering now, after that it'll be making the base and securing the model to it.











I'm going into the final assembly and weathering on it, then it's the flat clear coat and basing it.

This model is almost 30 years old and I never want to deal with decals that are that old again. They were slightly brittle and I had to use a needle to pull them off the paper and place them on the model.

Now the finished model. The only thing that is missing is the memorial plaque that I made for it. My buddy didn't want it on line.

Thank you. I'm hoping he will be. I did keep him updated with photos and he said it was better than he could do.
