Still fooling around with c3po as you can see, I should not have painted the bars in front of the eyes, they got globs of paint on them. Oh well. I should have used a different paint also, it's nowhere near a gold color, more like brass but I like it. Pretty much tired of this build, think I'm gonna install the other eye and glue the body parts together and slap it on a base. It looks ok-ish from a distance
Thanks guys. As frustrating as working on the eyes is, had fun doing the belly wires. They're too thick but just used what I had around. Need to get it done. Very happy with this shot, things are coming together
Bit of work to do still, I dropped the model from the shelve, broke its legs, poor thing. That was an easy fix except the knee piston thingy broke off and can't find it anywhere, have to make a new one.
And some unexpected trouble with the power supply, it was generating 7 volts as opposed to 5, leds got a bit warm and one of them is slightly more yellow now. Gonna leave that for now. The head is not glued on luckily so I can replace the eyes if needed.
It's done, was fun, this was my first ever character modelbuild. This recast wasn't so bad in the end. The brass details did a lot for it, painting, hmmm, still have lots to learn. The eyes were the most challenging but great improvement from the first trials I did. Can't wait to do another one. Well, a different character
