Second attempt on building a Corsair. The last one ended up in the scrap box.

Good start but the decals got alot got of texture..

Some oil washes today, did not add much to the look. Gonna seal it with matt varnish and continue with pigments.

Propeller done.
Been patiently waiting for the oils to cure. 48 hour+. Now matt varnish and then pigments.

Some dusting after varnish. Not much "pop". Had a vision of faded blue but ended up here. It looks alright though I think. Not done anyway

Decent work I think, not the best build but decent.

Next build I buy and use liquid masking for the canopy. There are some cutting marks.

Maybe I should have had more blueish sky grey on the sides.

These 1/48 Tamiya kits are great and not that expensive in comparisson to other kits. Highly recommend.

Turned out very nicely.
I used a Tamiya bird for the Big Spring Contest a few years back.
Did it up as "Pappy's Bird" from the VMF-214
