Guys,
I'm present a WIP of my Academy Sheridan finishing process in the hopes that some of you can help me with a few aspects I'm not feeling overly confident about.
The kit is built, warts and all, from the box. I just added some Alice packs from Tamiya. The other stowage is from the kit or scratch built.
I'm not wild about the tracks (not installed yet), but I'll be darned if I shell out 3x what I payed for the kit to get the aftermarket set. Kit tracks were good enough for my modeling hero, Shep Paine, so they're good the heck enough for me. ;D
Step one of finishing was to spray the entire kit with Vallejo green brown primer.
Then I built up thin coats of a mix made from Vallejo tan yellow, dark sand, and shadows flesh. I try to avoid modeling cliches, but I like how the cloud spray finishes look on single color AFVs.
Then an orange shaded filter on some panels, and a dark blue filter over the engine grills.
I also base coated the stowage with humbrol colors.
Next up: decals and a coffee brown pin wash.
What I could use some help with is painting the stowage. Not sure how to achieve the effect of fabric on the packs and whatever material the sleeping mats are made of.
Please advise. ???
