Another kit I have in the works is this old SB-2. TONS of flash on this one.




This will be my first time trying scribing.



Definitely takes some getting used to, maybe a little heavy-handed on this one, but I like the results.

Gloss black done in preparation for the silver topcoat.

Vallejo Metal Color Silver went on nicely. I saw some dust in the finish that I'll correct later.

Pledge floor wax day. I might do a second coat, we'll see in a couple days.

airbrush, and it doesn't need to be thinned. Clean up with Windex.

It'll give it that old-timy feeling... which I think gives it a certain charm, unless you're one of those guys obsessed with perfection.

Decals surprisingly went on okay with a lot of care. I'll cover with a coat of floor polish next.

Using EZ-Line for the tail bracing wires. I'll paint them silver later.

I have some, have used, but with no experience, wasn't sure how well it holds up over time...
Is it like rubber bands that dry out and snap eventually?
Also how mutch stretch is too much?
And despite the hype, will it sag after a while?

Finished this one. An old, crude kit but a pretty decent build-up.

Worked out very nicely!
The scribing really does add shadows and highlights for added interest, especially with that uniform metallic finish.

To save you some time, BB. Pledge, doesn't make this anymore and I'm not sure what they called it in Canada.


This is kinda' the go to now.
Unless someone else has other suggestions, heck, I'd be interested also.
