Superior police arrest screaming man in chimney
A man who was caught in the chimney of a business he apparently sought to burglarize was arrested Friday morning by Superior police.
The 22-year-old Duluth man was heard screaming from the chimney at Northland Supply Co., 1705 Broadway Street, by a resident of the nearby Clifford Lund Apartments. After conducting a search, Superior police and firefighters discovered the partially undressed man wedged in a galvanized chimney pipe. He was arrested at 7:05 a.m.
SPD Capt. Thomas Meronek said the suspect is lodged in the Douglas County Jail pending formal charges.
