Hi everyone,

I'm new here. My name is Jim, and I'm an armour modeller currently recovering from a bad bout of Advanced Modellers' Syndrome. I concentrate mostly on Allied armour (that's "tanks painted green" or to put it another way, they're like Panzers, except they were used by the side that won ;D).

For years, I didn't finish a kit, because the more I looked into them, the more I found had to be done to make them "perfect". But after joining another forum where the modellers were more interested in enjoying themselves than building a world-beating model, I started to get my mojo back. Then I started reviewing kits for a magazine, which doesn't give me time to mess around getting every last detail correct. So now I'm churning them out for fun, and I've been looking for a forum of like-minded modellers. Looks like I've found one. :)

So, hello all, and I'll be seeing you around!

JIM,

Welcome to th HERD . I think You'll Dig it here. While there may be some guys here with AMS ( raises hand ;D) , It's stil a really cool place to hang out , talk Tech, Th fact that you Glued your lips to th Cap for your C.A. glue, cause you used your mouth to take off th Cap !? etc ...

Glad to see another Armor Modeler here, even though you build th "Green Tanks" ;D !! I look forward to seein your Stuff !! I build th German Panzers ... *Surprise * ;D , ya' know those Yellow, Green, & Red Behemoths that lost th War ! ;D

I'm Glad that you got your Mojo back !!!! Pull up a Chair & let's scrape some Plastic !!

th Motto here : "Completion not Perfection " - Scott Girvan - He's a Great kat ... & He runs this Joint ! ;D

See ya on th Boards !!

you will get a long with everyone just fine.

i share the same thing, some of my work even shocks some of the people here, the center peace of my collection is a primary Example, here you are free to do what ever you please, to me and everyone here that is what modeling is about, thinking outside of the box, doing what makes you happy for fun, making it your own personal peace of work. to me and many of us here building straight out of the box can be a little boring, and nobody becomes a rivet counter over night, but rivet counter, or fun modeler, we are all welcome here...

cant wait to see some of your work, good luck, and welcome to the forum.

Welcome aboard, Jim.
Yeah, if were not having fun making models....then it becomes a job, and I don't know about you, but model making doesn't pay squat! LOL :D
So I do it to relax, have fun, and to improve.
I am looking forward to seeing what you have done.

Thanks for the friendly welcome, guys! I'm already glad to be here. I have some stuff to finish off which I can't post here, but then I'll be posting away with whatever crosses my tiny mind. See you around!
