Hasegawa Kawanishi Type-94-1 (Catapult with ALF)

Got the plane together this evening and boy was it a pain to line up the wings and get the landing gear on.
I've got an unholy mess of CA underneath now.

Looks great Ian! I always hate it when things dont line up nicely but it looks like you worked through it and the kit looks awesome.

Hey Ian. Sorry I did not mention this earlier , just didn't occur to me then...

You had mentioned about the problems lining up the wings. When I build a bi-plane, I sometimes make myself a "jig" out of scrap styrene. That's how I built my 1:72 Curtiss H-16. There are adjustable jigs for sale, but the Aeroclub one I originally wanted to get is no longer in production. Eventually (if I get around to designing what I want) I might ask someone cut one out of stainless steel on our laser table at work...

Also, if you check-out the Wingnut Wings website they have a suggestion for using a box top as a jig.

Below are some pictures I found online of some jigs (just as a referance);

Sorry, I don't have pictures of the jig I made for my H-16, I tossed it out at the beginning of this week (room clean-up). It was very similar to the last one shown, just made out of PS. By having a jig with three tiers you could also easily line up the floats also, or just glue them on after the wings have set...

Great suggestions Jason, I'm definitely going to spend the time on a jig for my next bi-wing aircraft build.
