Welcome to the Herd, Grumpa! I like whiffers, too, though I haven't built many of them. Mostly it's aircraft that were in design or development but were canceled before they could be put in production. I'm gathering info now, for example, to finish one of my 1/48 Vultee Vengeances as the proposed TBV-1 torpedo bomber. It was discussed, and Vultee designed a folding wing for it. But the Navy wasn't interested, so it never even got to full design drawings. Or the Grumman XF5F as a Marine fighter-bomber flying off Guadalcanal. Things like that.
