ICM Spitfire Mk.IX - PE

Continuing on….I've continued to experiment with this one as it's been so flawed from the very beginning I figured I could try a few methods of weathering, detailing etc. using products and techniques I've seen. It's obviously overworked and over-corrected, but I've learned a lot on this little spit, not just from a modeling perspective, but about the mechanics, history and its role in turning the tide of the war. I'm really looking forward to picking up one of the many higher quality versions that's out there (leaning towards the Tamiya Mk.ix 1:48 or at some point the very nice mk.xvie in 1:32 they have).

One of several things that caused me some agida were the upper roundels which were much larger than they should be. I had to get creative with the yellow bands on each wing to reduce the disparity caused by the overlapping which were overtly clipping the front edges of the roundels. It was too much for my ocd to ignore so removal, touch-up and over sanding the front edges of the wings was in order. Anyway, it's a mess, but at the end of the day a great learning experience.

I'll post more pics once the rest of the weathering has been completed and everything is in place.
