IDF M-51 Super Sherman Gallery

This time from my workbench. Israeli Sherman from Academy in 1:35 scale.

Built with some handmades like metal fenders and handles. As first painted overall with Surfacer.


Next background with olive green for darkest shadows.


Hilights with mixes of light earth, white, and JGSDF Olive Drab.




And dusted tracks.

The gun on it is a cut down 105mm, uses standard NATO 105mm rounds, and I believe is the same gun that was in their Centurions....could be wrong on that though. The muzzle brake came because they cut the barrel down from it's original length, which imparted more recoil into the tank (that and probably because it was being mounted on a Sherman, which isn't nearly as big as a Cent.), hence the cool muzzle brake to reduce the recoil some.

No wonder it was called a "Super Sherman"

I have the Dragon kit, and waiting on the Tamiya one to arrive.

Nice finish! My Tamiya one is just about ready for paint. Mind you the closer I get to paint, the more I find to do on it! LOL

Finding decent photos of the stowage they carried in '67 is becoming a chore though. May just throw some stuff on the back shelf and cover it with a tarp...seems most of them were done this way apparently.

Fantasic job on the Super Sherm. Love the colors you picked for the drums it really breaks up the monotone scene!
