Jedi Starfighter - Revell Snap

I'm toying with getting one or two of these Revell Snap kits. Cool link by the way. Very inspirational.

Looks to be coming along nicely, Scott.
And, in your defense, you did just fine with a lousy figure

Nice preshading, Scott! :)

@Sol, that link is pretty cool. I'm confused though, It looks like he sprays Alcad 2 over a coat of Tamiya X-1 on the R2? I thought you weren't supposed to put Alcad over acrylics.... :-\

Looks like he does though, and it looks great!

Scott, I suspect You in turning into a preshading master. First the X-Wing, now this..I will be watching You closely now, mister *a look with screwed-up eyes* ;D
Man, this looks 5 stars! Really great work, can't wait for more!

You are right, Igard, I've heard it is not good too, as Alcad can't get as good adhession over soft and fragile acrylics as over the primer.
But I guess this guy just thought that on such a small piece that would do + if handle it with care pretty anything with adhesion better then "it doesn't keep on at all" might survive to the stage of spraying a protective layer of lacquer :)

Scott, you have single handedly convinced me to start preshading. Even though I still think it looks quite tricky, I'm going for it!

Sol, thanks for explaining that. The guy clearly knows what he's doing.

Wow. Thanks Igard. You'll get the hang of it for sure. Just remember to keep your paint thin, adding layers as you go. I still have lots to learn but the more I practice the more confident I become.

This is pre.

What Ken is tawking aboot is once I saw Solander's link I tried spraying a grey metalic in lieu of the 'painted' look seen here. It didn't look so good do I reprimered the bottom of the wing that I tested on and preshaded again, bringing me right back to this.
