Hello my fellow SMA's:
If you recall I recently shared with you images of my Tamiya Spitfire IXc (1/32 scale) in progress. After putting on the remaining small bits, weathering and several coats of acrylic clear matt varnish I am ready to present my work to you.
Your comments and suggestions are welcome!!

If any one is interested I used the following for weathering:
Abtielung 502 oil sepia on the dorsal plane surface as a sludge wash plus burnt umber, umber, earth and black for highlights, dirt grime ect.
Ammo Mig panel line washes- blue dirt, dark sea blue on the ventral surface , plus Ammo PLW of dark brown, and kerosene and oil
and combination of black, burnt umber and brown oils and starship dirt oils for exhaust stains.
Tires were touched with blend of Ammo PLW dark brown and pacific dust and Tamiya weathering pastels
Chipping was done using Abtielung liquid rubber over a base coat of Mr Surface black 1500, followed by a coat of AKI exteme metal aluminum followed by the standard camo colors of the Spitfire.

Very intricate detail and great paint job. Must have spent many hours painting this. Very cool.

Very nice execution of your subject. I'm impressed with chipping effects around the canopy. Thanks for sharing

Thanks so much for your compliments. FYI, I used liquid rubber masking material laid on top of a vallejo's extreme metal paint dark aluminum. I diluted it and painted it out with a brush selectively and carefully and then I painted with the RAF dark green over the masking material. When finished I took a pencil eraser and gently rubbed off the paint to expose the chip in and then used 1,000 and 2000 grit wet sandpaper to sand down the paint and chipping to make it look old and smooth. It was my first time doing this as I learned it from another blog site from an excellent modeler from Canada. Seem to work out and I plan to use it on my p47 build and I'm currently doing .

Certainly looks good, love that chipping you've done, thanks for saying how .
