I have just started to build models after over 50 years. First one was a Tamiya Panzer II F tank that I built just last month. Had fun with it and it was a rather easy build. I have ordered two other tank models but I kept remembering the models I built when I was in junior high school. One of the last models I had back then but never finished was a model designed by Tom Daniel for the Monogram label called the Pie Wagon. I kept thinking about that model as I was building the Panzer II and while looking at different armor models to order after I finished up with the Panzer I decided to see if they were still making it. Lo and behold if Atlantis hasn't re-issued it as a vintage limited edition and I found it for sale at one of my favorite online hobby stores. Needless to say I couldn't get to their checkout page quick enough.
I had to come to a forum to talk about it because my wife thinks that I have completely lost my mind (she may be right) and really couldn't care less about a "plastic model car toy", as she put it, lol. Anyway, the model kit is supposed to be here sometime mid week next week.
I miss those old hot rod/street rod models from back in the day and I remember when you could go to Kmart (remember Kmart?) and they would have a complete aisle of scale models. Planes, tanks, cars, trucks, hot rods, the whole nine yards. On the end caps were the racks of Testors paints, glue, a few basic tools, and paint brushes.
Well, anyway, I'm prattling on and showing my age. Like I said, had to tell somebody about it, wife don't care, lol. You all have a great day.
