Hi guys,
I just painted my leopard in winter camo (my interpretation ;))
What kind of oil wash should i try to use on this? Or maybe a ready made product?
Or should i do a light mist of very thinned white to blend all the colors in?

point me in the right direction please.

you could get the Nato set from AK for it, It's a tan/brown kinda flter with a black wash hope that kinda of helps

Maybe a pin wash with black to highlight the details followed by an overall wash of burnt umber ( I use oils for this ) Then finish with some pigments. And I think the thinned down overspray might do well too. But keep in mind that I'm no expert at this. Yet. lol

I second spud's advice. The AK product line is amazing with weathering easily. I used it on my T-90 back in last year's BSC and it came out wonderfully. well, until I overdid it on the mud and spatter effect. The glorious part of it is that if you're sure to put down a solid coat of Future to the entire thing and dont like the effects, you can can just wipe them right off with a little bit of White Spirits or Odorless Turpenoids!

If you do get some kit from AK, make sure to invest on some fine brushes, an aluminum pallet and the 100ml Bottle of White Spirit.

*P.S.---- Loving that color scheme on this one. It pops quite nicely as it is, a dark grey/black pin wash should make those panels and details jump out nicely!*

Hi Tbadger,
I have looked at ak products ( NATO filter) but not share if it will work on a winter camouflage.
About the brush for those filters, the softer the better?

Thanks for the the help everyone!

Soft as the fur of a kitten......you want the effect to be essentially a blur and not hard straight lines made by a tight packed stiff bristle style. It's best to use those kinds for pigments.

Well I just ordered some ak weathering stuff, maybe tonight ill go and buy some high quality brushes.
I'll let you know how it went and post some pics here or the armour forum.

I'm looking forward to try these new things out, yep I'm still a plastic modelling virgin in many ways ;D
Thanks for the help!

Should a person use a wash on every panel line regardless of what genre the kit is ? If so when do you apply the wash to the panel lines in the process of building the kit ?

Wash after a filter.

And yes if you have nuts and bolts with panel lines then do it :) it will make the model stand out
