Hey all. Started this bad boy a couple days ago. I have to admit my first helicopter build ever. So far, I'm real happy with the fit and haven't run into any issues yet but with all these small little pieces on a helicopter I'm sure I'm going to run into some. Anyways here's a couple pics. Working on the cockpit. I used several different blacks just to give it some contrast. Flat black, NATO black, and rubber black. Highlighted a little bit with dry brush silver and German Gray. I still have to scuff it up where they get in and climb into the seat and maybe do one or two other things to it. Thinking about getting the seats to look more real but it comes with a Gunner and pilot so that might be a waste of time.

Nice to see you doing the saraf build Rob . I'm sure you remember my build done up. Feel free to use whatever research I put into wiring it so on as needed or, ask and I can take pics. Looking good so far.

Nice Rob! Keep the updates coming, even small ones.

Am I the only one wishing a new version of Jane's AH-64 series was available?

Thanks guys. I usually don't buy the extra add-ons like PE and seat belts or wiring. I can do the bare minimum with PE but normally I just buy a model and I build it with what's in the box. Now that F-35 I did buy a masking set but you almost have to with that plane. But I wouldn't mind a couple pictures of the wiring you did just to see if I want to try getting into that. Remember. I'm still learning a whole lot. Couple more pictures just for the hell of it. Test fitted the body and I have no complaints, none. Built the rotor assembly and maybe paint that today or I might just build some more

Wow. That's some great work. I honestly don't think my eyes or my hands are up to the task. My inner kid says hell with that, we're going to jump in with both feet. But then I wake up. Maybe the more I build the more I will strive to learn more

Thanks for the compliment! Appreciate it! Yeah well I have ya the option. That kit is a beautiful piece of work, so well made. If ya feel like you do, if not don't worry about it lol... You build your model for you.

Got a little more done. Will be building the engines next. The fit is just absolutely fantastic. The instructions are just so so. I am just amazed at the amount of detail in it. And it's a fun build. I'm really enjoying myself on this one. Another thing I like about it is you can build the pieces and fit it onto the helicopter body and sub assemblies so that you can take it apart when you get ready to paint it, if you want. So far this kit is playing in the same schoolyard as Tamiya. That interior color on the avionics bays and doors is an experiment. I wanted to see what it looked like if I put transparent yellow over primer Gray

...at least it looks like some of the wiring and connectors are molded... seems the vehicle and armour kits I've been building have little to none of that! (unless I add it myself)
That's gonna be mighty impressive, the way you're going!
