I see this stuff used alot for all kinds of things from making figures to banana bread. Well, maybe not banan bread, but alot of things. I see people using their fingers to form it. Just wondering if it is toxic or not? thanks

Hi Matt,

I love Milliput ,it has sooo many uses and not just in modeling terms . Not sure it its Toxic or Harmful , the box just carries an 'irritant ' label over here .I've never had any bother with it and will continuee to use it as long as it stays available :)

Chris.

Hi Matt, check my tiger 1 tom, I've use miliput as Zimmerit...

the only bother some is like your making clay pots instead of brown its white or grey ;D

if you are alergic to epoxy if can be very dangerus to you, i work with epoxy grouts in tiling and they are deadly to some peopel, so if you are unsure use gloves. me on the other hand i bult of carbonite notting seem to effect me not even the comon cold.

Thanks guys for your input. I try to play it safe with these toxic modeling tools. I'm not perfect but I try to wear gloves and masks etc. most of the time.

It seems like pretty useful stuff. I gather there are no fumes to worry about? Like Spud said, you may not want it on your hands. I wondered if you tried to form it with gloves, if the stuff would stick to your gloves?

I will echo what Chris said....Milliput is not just for modeling. I used some to fix a leaky pipe temporarily until I could have if fixed properly.

Since it plugged the leak, I wasn't in too much of a hurry to pay to have it fixed and it was well over a year later when I did have it fixed.

When the plumber got done, he asked what I used to fix it with, and told him....he bought all 3 tubes of the Milliput I had....and has since come back to buy more.

New name for the business, Elm City Hobbies & Plumbing Supply! ;D ;D ;D

lol Scott, Noname no real feumes but it does have a bit of a smell but notinging to worry about, oh make sure you give your hands a good wash after using it also.!

Yip...I have done quick fixes on ..sumps, crankcases ,motorcycle engine casings ,gearboxes ...you name it ;D ...its just as good as any cold weld product :)

Matt ..to answer your question ...no ,I have never noticed any fumes of it ,when handling or rolling out into sheets ...use a little talcum powder ...stops it sticking to everything ,it can be rolled out paper thin :)

Chris.

well, haven't tried that part yet

I also assure you there's no fumes when it comes to miliput, beside the guys are right it has alot of uses.
