Hello all,
Does anyone know of a model car show in the Phoenix AZ area?
I see amazing videos of car shows in other locations, would love to go to one without having to book a flight.

I've been to the IPMS " Modelmania " show here in Houston several times but only entered a build once in 2019

I haven't been since the pandemic
It's usually at the very end of April , start of May .
Maybe I'll enter something in the 2025 show .

I'm thinking of going to this same show this next year as I haven't been to a show since the Nats in New Braunfels in 2023. I've been to Model Mania once in 2016 and it was a really good show and have been tinkering with the idea of going back. For a while I made the show in San Antonio (Model Fiesta) but the last time someone I knew went to that show it was tiny.....and I do mean tiny. Something like 6 tables tiny and that was just last year.

May 3rd sounds like something I can make so I may just have to go this year.

Did you win anything with that build?

Well let's keep in touch .
I should have at least one build ready by then .

" Did you win anything with that build? "
yes , it won a first and also " Best of Fictional "
I was a bit shocked . That 2019 show was the largest show with the most entries they ever had to date .
I was on the other side of the event the whole time they were giving out the awards ,, and then I started hearing my name being called repeatedly .

Sounds like a plan bud and I've got several builds since the last time I went to a "local show". What's your first name and we'll take 'er from there.

I'm Joe and it's good to meet you.

It's Keith

It will be good to attend again .
The show was cancelled at least one year during the pandemic and then the people that I used to meet there stopped going and my one friend here in Houston that used to go moved out of state .

Gotcha Keith. I'll start warming my wifey up to the idea of going to that one. I really do miss that show as there was a lot going on there with plenty of vendors.

The Nats was a good show too. I didn't win a dang thing there but it didn't matter because I still had fun meeting up with folks from the forums and all.

Yeah , the vendor area is always pretty good .
or was ,
it will be cool to see what is going on now .

The venue is relatively close to my neighborhood --- on the Houston Scale , ;)

The way I remember it, the vendor area was indeed pretty good. They still holding it at the same complex?

I'm from Corpus so it's not a bad trip for me.

I've been through there a couple of times on my way to the beautiful town of Pueblo Colorado (and I say that very facetiously ) while I was on Homeland Defense deployment there and it's quite the trek.

Texas is huge .
When I was stationed on the east coast I would drive non-stop home , and back , when I got leave .
Half the drive is Texas
LOLOL!!! Try driving from Corpus/ Houston to Fort Bliss......in a frickin' deuce and a half at 50mph!!! LOLOLOLOL!!!
