Well I just finished my first diorama. It's a 1/48th Corsair I had dirtied up and didn't like it afterwards, then I decided I may like it on my shelf in a diorama so I threw a little something together and was reminded how much I enjoyed doing more than just building a model and putting it on the shelf. I kept it very simple and have a lot of time practicing figure painting ahead of me but this is the direction I'm going now for sure. Now I have accumulated some 1/35th figures, armor, and accessories, and can't stop thinking of ideas to create. Lot's of work and a bunch more learning ahead of me. Nothing like learning new stuff while aging to keep the mind from turning into mush.

Looks like you're off to a great start. I agree about keeping the mind busy. I can't stand to sit around and watch TV.

Dios are so much fun. You can go so far down the rabbit hole of telling a story, you're only limited by your imagination and budget lol.

Thanks and we don't do much TV anymore. If we do it's documentaries or a movie off of TCM. I haven't tuned into a major network for anything in at least three years. They have nothing to offer me. I have a second hobby I share with my wife and that's bird watching while relaxed on our front porch. TV has nothing on that LOL.

Absolutely agree with that. I look at lots of things through the diorama lens now for some reason. I stop and think, wait can I use this before I throw something away. There is no telling where ideas may take you. I love it.

I think the diorama idea is the way to go..it makes it way more interesting than just a model sitting there..I'm going to do this with all my models from now on...nice work

Thanks.

Oops. Wrong thread.

My apologies, for some reason I thought this was the thread on the diorama I built.

Thanks and I couldn't agree more. I'm absolutely blown away by the diorama stuff I see on youtube videos. Luke Towan and Kathy Millat are absolutely amazing at what they do.
