This is my first time using an airbrush. I have made some mistakes, but the results look pretty good so far. I do not know how to do the rust staining that runs down the sides. Please tell me what else I need to do. Help!...
Here are the images of what I have done so far. Using tamiya paints and model master flat clear acryl. I started with tamiya gray primer. Then a coat of rust brown. I then did highlights with a mix of brown and white. Then hairspray and salt. I thin painted with flat green. The salt, I think, caused the paint to lighten up, you can see it around the large chunks of salt. This influenced me to spray the green heavier than I should have. I then remove the salt and used water and a stiff brush to remove more paint. It didn't release as well on the sides due to the heavy coat, but it turned out ok. When I clear coated the paint darkened back up. I then did a wash made from flat black and 70% alcohol. It brought out the lines pretty well. I am now looking for advice from the experts.
