New Sci-Fi kits

So question for everybody.
Regardless of not finding the old 537 smoothie is it worth getting one now on Ebay and dumping a ton of aftermarket at it? Tenacontrols ( any lighting kit really) Greenstrawberry, Paragraphics, Shapeways, Aztec Dummy (Mask Design) Wallpaper decals? Thoughts?
for me, as always its " is it worth it to you"? a lot of times i have payed scalpers prices because i HAD to have it and it was worth it to me.

I try not to keep much of a stash. But if I really want to build a subject, I shell out for it. Quality over quantity

I like the idea of 3d printing - but I haven't had much luck with it.

I got a resin printer last year in order to try printing out my own models. If you manage to merge all the pieces together into a singular model to print - then you get halfway decent results. But I found if I wanted to print out individual pieces in order to assemble a more respectable sized model - apparently there must be calibration issues I haven't yet figured out.

There would be slight differences, bends, imperfections in the prints that would make trying to assemble the pieces near impossible without significant rework. I attempted to print out a cylon raider that I bought the model for, and I just could not get the areas that were meant to join to be properly aligned to each other.

So now I'm just printing out odds and ends that make things like storage easier...and kinda bummed about it.

This is good to know. I get the impression that 3D printing can be super time consuming and take away from model building time.

This is from Round 2's booth at the Wonder Fest. MPC Black Hole kits are being repopped! Hell has frozen over. Wow. I hope the Cygnus will be cast in clear, and with extra runners to make the length accurate.

Plus a 12th scale Landspeeder and a 72nd scale TIE Bomber at last! It's about time since Bandai let this one slip through their fingers.

I heard they were fixing the length, but can't cite a source. I am excited about the tie bomber

Thanks! I missed this in my notifications. I saw one that showed the prequel models plus a bunch of diecast stuff, none of which I care about.

I'm going back to fleeting memories of when I was about 4-5 years old, as I cannot remember when we went to go see Empire Strikes Back. (It was probably at the dollar theater a year later in '81 when I was 5.) I remember the scene showing the Super Star Destroyer and all of the TIE Fighters flying about, and feeling excited at the first glimpse of the TIE Bombers. It's a shame they never included the TIE Bombers in the battle above Endor.
