Hi All
Question regards camo uniforms or any other patterned clothing, in the folds of the clothing where shadows have been added, would the pattern painted afterwards also need darkened in those areas?? hopefully you'll know what i mean. appreciate any help on this matter
Thanks
Brian

If your using acrylics I can help. Yes the shadows will fall on the pattern. You can achieve this effect a few different ways. You can simply darken the paint or use a wash in that area. If you darken the paint the easy way is to add a little black to each color and build up layers. The better way is to darken the paint color with a deeper shade of the same color. Let's say your doing camo green/black/tan you would use a darker brown and green. If you want to create a wash you can just water the paint down or mix in a flow releasing agent. Normally you do this with black or brown for shadows. Or buy a ready wash from vallejo, mig secret, weapon. Hope this helps
