Don't know if this has been posted before but if it has, Apologies, just in case it hasn't I've devised a cheap alternative for
radiator pipework and the like for Cars Motorcycles etc, it involves the use of heat shrink tubing, it comes in a box
like this from amazon, various sizes, lengths, and Colours, I'm sure a quick search would find you the right diameter
or AWG
link is this one

ASHINER Heat Shrink Tubing Kit - 580Pcs EVA Material in 6 Colours and 11 Sizes - Ideal for Electrical Insulation,
Repairs, and Wire Connectors with User-Friendly Design and Storage Case

Also, computer / phone USB leads that you can get braided types in different colours, I've bared the last inch revealing the actual wire
inside, clasped the end with pliers and pulled off the sleeving, thus giving you an open end for gluing

Just a suggestion I thought some of ye may be interested in

Nice! Never thought of that!

Every so often I raid my electrical odds and ends, twist ties, old lamp and extension cords. I have some garden ties that also come in handy.

My city is not big enough, but in Toronto I could hit one street in particular that a few stores with boxes of electronics, motors, and doodads!

Sites like Amazon are huge marketplaces for everything and anything. I recently found great sponge pads, eyeliner sticks and mini brushes in the 'beauty supplies'... great for weathering, glue application and detailing.

Cheers
